General information
Lennart Rodhe (1916–2005) was one of Sweden’s most influential modernist artists. He was´a painter, printmaker, and professor at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Known for his evolution from realism to geometric abstraction (concretism), he was a leading member of the "Men of 1947" group and created many of Sweden's most significant public art commissions as well as making his work available as prints to a wide audience through major commissions from Konstfrämjandet and other publishers.
Established in 2004 by Margareta Rodhe, the Foundation is the universal heir to the artistic estate of Lennart and Margareta Rodhe. Its mission is to promote research on Swedish contemporary art and to manage the extensive collection of artworks, letters, photographs, and biographical material left by the couple.

Art & Research
Yes. The Foundation manages an extensive archive of biographical material, including letters, photographs, original artworks and sketches. We welcome inquiries from art historians and researchers for professional and academic projects. Please describe your project and the specific materials you wish to study.
Purchasing & the Webshop
Yes. The Foundation operates an official Webshop (shop.lennartrodhe.se) where you can buy original graphic works (serigraphs and lithographs) signed and numbered by the artist.
Yes, the items sold in the shop are original graphic prints. They are typically signed and numbered by Lennart Rodhe himself. To guarantee authenticity, works purchased directly from the Foundation are also provided with a special foundation stamp on the reverse side.
The Foundation ensures that all works offered through the shop are in excellent condition, preserved in professional storage environments.
Research & Copyright
The Lennart and Margareta Rodhe Foundation owns the copyright to all works by Lennart and Margareta Rodhe.
For permission to use images of Rodhe’s art in books, articles, or digital media, you should contact the Foundation. In many cases, licensing is also managed through Bildupphovsrätt (BUS) in Sweden. https://www.bildupphovsratt.se/
Yes. One of the Foundation’s primary goals is to provide researchers with access to the artist's archives. This includes not only artworks but also biographical material like correspondence and photographs. Interested researchers should contact the Foundationwith a formal inquiry.
